Majid Al Futtaim—the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia— is supporting Sharjah’s annual Ramadan initiative with amazing offers for residents and charitable activities with schools and government organisations at its community malls in Sharjah from May 17 until June 18.
Majid Al Futtaim has teamed up with Sharjah Chamber of Commerce again this year to participate in the Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2018. Matajer Al Juraina, Matajer Al Quoz, Matajer Al Mergab and Matajer Al Khan – neighbourhood retail concepts by Sharjah Holding PJSC, a joint venture between Majid Al Futtaim Properties and Sharjah Asset Management, and My City Centre Al Nasseriya will mark the Holy Month by encouraging the community to embrace the values of generosity and family time with various social initiatives, competitions and culinary experiences for everyone.
“Ramadan is a time of peace and togetherness and we invite everyone to embrace the spirt of the month at our malls and create great moments with family and friends,” said Hamad Al Lawati – Community Malls Manager at Majid Al Futtaim.
“To drive home the message of altruism and unity this Holy Month, we have reached out to schools and government organisations this year to support us and collect items that will be donated to the less fortunate as part of Majid Al Futtaim’s annual ‘Make a Difference’ campaign. We also invite residents from all faiths and walks of life to come together, take advantage of our offers and break their fast with a delectable selection of free dates and Arabian sweets at our malls.”
The Sharjah Ramadan Festival was launched in 1991 with the aim of promoting the emirate as a major cultural and entertainment destination. The annual event provides entertainment for the whole family and features major sales promotions on a diverse range of goods and services.
“We are very pleased to organise yet another season of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival, which starts on May 17 and will be on until June 18, along with our partners My City Centre Al Nasseriya and the Matajer community malls and present a host of activities and offers for residents and tourists visiting the Emirate. We welcome everyone to experience a special Ramadan in Sharjah,” said Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing Department of Sharjah Spring Promotions and Coordinator of Sharjah Ramadan Festival.
Matajer malls are getting everyone from little children to government officials involved in
Majid Al Futtaim’s annual ‘Make a Difference’ campaign this year. The malls will distribute donation bags at neighbourhood schools and government organisations, such as Sharjah Police, Sharjah Economic Development Department and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, to fill with new or gently used clothes, books and toys – these will then be handed out to the less fortunate by the Emirate’s Red Crescent. Customers are also invited to make donations at the malls at various collection bins designated for this purpose.
Come together for a scrumptious iftar meal with loved ones at one of the new F&B concepts at the recently extended Matajer Al Juraina and enjoy a sweet ending with the mall’s ‘Desserts on Us’ promotion. Visitors can dive into selection of free dates, coffee and Arabian sweets that will be provided during the Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2018 from 9pm until midnight at designated hospitality corners.
All of the community-centred malls will host sales, with huge discounts offered on all manner of items available from May 17 until June 18. Even better, shoppers who spend as little as AED 100 at any Al Matajer mall or at My City Centre Al Nasseriya can enter a prize draw for the chance to win a sleek new car– a BMW 318i. The luxury car has kindly been donated by
Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, and the draw will take place on the third day of Eid Al Fitr.
